Who We Are

A Open Collaboration:

For over four years I’ve been using my skills as a filmmaker to tell powerful and emotional stories of

victims of workplace bullying. I’m deeply moved by the conversations that the films have inspired and am expanding my efforts to illuminate more aspects of this damaging issue while at the same time providing a portal for journalists, legislators, practitioners, researchers and targets of workplace abuse to come together.

– Beverly Peterson

Top on the list of those who have helped make this possible is my tech guru and  videographer, Patrick Perrotto, who has always been there.  He freely donated the use of his state of the art broadcast quality equipment and did much of the driving.

Over the years we’ve been to Massachusetts, Texas, New Jersey, New York (numerous times), Virginia (numerous times), Pennsylvania and Canada and I even took a few solos to Wisconsin, Texas & Wales.  Pat arranged for Ed Hollema to donate his services as Audio & Asst Camera.   Let me put it this way, had we all been paid for our time, services, and equipment it would have easily cost upwards of $200,000+.  I am forever indebted to them both.  Feel free to help by making a donation of any size.

In a few short years we’ve already finished 3 short films that share the stories of targets of workplace bullying.  Right now, we’re in the process of launching a longer film about the tragic suicide of the Virginia Quarterly Review’s Managing Editor, Kevin Morrissey that captured major media attention when his death was linked to workplace bullying. Kevin’s boss, Ted Genoways, quickly became the ‘poster boy’ for advocates seeking workplace bullying legislation. And, although an investigation found Genoways innocent of bullying, Kevin’s surviving sister, Maria, has joined the lobbying effort. This compelling drama sheds new light on the highly charged and troubling aspects of this issue.

Here’s some of what we’ve accomplished:

**over 7,600 signatures on a National Care2 Petition we co-founded demanding President Obama and the Department of Labor address the workplace bullying epidemic. (Note: largest petition on this topic)**

** 50 Best Blogs On Bullying **

** Chicken & Egg, “I Believe in You” New Media Grant  **

  1. I just wanted to say thank you for collecting these resources together about workplace bullying on your website. I’ve just realised that what I have been considering a “negative dysfunctional” workplace is actually a case of my boss being a “bully”, and knowing that it’s against OH&S care charter helps remove the personal sense of failure and shame so I can tackle it more productively. Will take me a while to get through all the great material here, have added you to my blogroll 🙂
